Cabin Interior
In previous pages, the initial sketches of the SVX interior showed a variety of concepts are more are seen on the Prototype Catalogue Page.
From left to right, the pictures above show an evolution of the design theme, the basis being the flat, angled form of the central console. The top left picture shows an early concept that embodies a very 80's 'gadgetry' feel and an all too similar feeling to that of the Vortex or indeed, many Citroen's.
By the pictures to the right, the dashboard had become more conventional yet still retained the feeling of solidness and functionality imparted by the centre console. The evolution of the gear lever and handbrake lever are also of note.
By the time of the photo above, the final layout of the dash and driver's area had almost reached that of the actual production model (pictured on the right). However, the instrumentation was still in an evolutionary stage and yet to shake off the slightly gimmicky feel as typified by the multi-coloured markings on the tachometre and general clutter as compared to the stark yet dynamic form that the SVX had evolved into, both inside and out.
Of note however is that across the various themes pictured above, the seats remain identical to that of the production SVX.
