First Doug, you are absolutely right. Second, handing ANYONE's well being over to the government is a socialist agenda and not one this administration or me in particular wants. I don't think it's the Federal governments job or responsibility to take care of my well being. New Orleans and Louisiana were the ones responsible to make sure it's residents were safe. That's why there is State and local government supported by taxes. New Orleans decided to neglect levy constrction and maintenence. New Orleans decided to hire anyone in Law Enforcement with a pulse. Louisiana EMA decided to prolong evacuation to the last 3 days when the storm tracker on CNN had it hitting the Gulf Coast 5 days before EMA even made a press release. You know who is responsible to look out for you? You. That's the problem with the mass welfare recepients. They sit around waiting for a check. It is a situation that has been handed down generation to generation since the 60's. In the hispanic culture in this country, at least those on welfare, 15 year old or younger girls get pregnant and the grandmother takes care of the kid, because when they were pregnant that's how it worked. I have met 30 year old grandmothers. I also can't begin to count how many times I have been in federal housing and seen women with 4 kids form 3 or 4 different men and sit at home watching big screen TV's and driving Cadillacs while paying $200 a month in rent. Social reform is the biggest obstacle in this country.
