Update on issue #2:
They looked for the PS leak with the UV light and saw a leak at one of the fittings on the pump which has become loose!? Hopefully that is all it was.
One odd thing though. He said that what he thought was engine oil at at different spot was also glowing!!! High mileage oils wouldn't have an additive that glows under UV light, would they? Otherwise, maybe a little of the PS fluid mixed in with some engine oil that was leaking in a different place. Or maybe the PS fluid that leaked and dripped down the engine had baked a little and took on the appearance of engine oil.
