My buddy has a 5 year old cabron fiber hood that has faded to the point it looks bad against the black car. We are thinking of painting it flat or satin black so it still stands out a bit (plus he doesn't want to pay for a hi-gloss professional paint job, this will be a rattle can project). Don't worry, this isn't on a SVX, but I figured I'd post here because I know there are some knowledgeable paint guys around here. Not to mention a few SVXes running around with painted carbon fiber hoods.
Any tips or tricks to prepping/painting it?
Do we need to use any special kind of primer/paint because it is a hood (engine heat)?
Any special primer/paint to account for any flex in the carbon fiber (no cracking)?
Thanks for your help!
