If you're looking for a sloppy alternative, I believe the pre-digital economy estimators were simply sourced from vacuum or narrowband O2 sensors hooked to gauges marked (surprise) lean, rich, and optimal or something. You may as well just ask your foot if it's on the floor.  |
Yeah. I remember a guy over on USMB saying how the best MPG indicator is a vacuum gauge. Try to keep it over to the left and you're making the best mpg
