Yeah I could see how that extra 15 degrees or so on the trunk opening does make a difference, it amounts to seveal extra inches of clearance at the top.

I wasn't even aware there was any aftermarket options for the trunk... yet.

Is it similar to the hood where it is something you have to fabricate the brackets on, or does some aftermarket company actually offer one for the SVX? I figured the fact that AWD never offered trunk ones, while they offered excellent hood ones, meant something.

While on the subject, Earl (or someone in the NW), do any of your cars have what you would consider GOOD trunk struts? Or better yet, ones you recently replaced with new OEM yourself? Looking for a test standard.
