The Amadeus debuted in '91. Most likely alongside the SVX when it was introduced to the public as a production car.


The rumor goes, that They brought Paul Hogan in to advertise the Amadeus, in production trim. He laughed them clean out of the room. At that point the Amadeus died, and the Outback was born.

I don't know how true that story is, as the timeline doesn't fit. Paul Hogan wasn't brougt on until '96. The Amadeus would have likeley debuted in '94-95 Basing it directly on the SVX chassis would have cut development time drastically. Also having 2 cars sharing a chassis would have made both cars more profitable. Yet another way Fuji missed the SVX boat.

As for what that wagon is behind the red prototype? I'm racking my brain, as I've seen it, I just can't place it.
