Yes, but stationary mass isn't the biggest deal. ROTATIONAL mass is not only just as bad as plain old stationary weight, but it's also harder to spin up. Think about it.... if you had to spin up ONE big flywheel to 100RPMs... imagine how long that would take you. Now imagine spinning 2 flywheels the same size as that first one up. Could you spin them up to 100rpms in the same amount of time?

No. You could not.

AWD cars have to spin up TWICE differentials, halfshafts, rotors, and wheels as a FWD or RWD vehicle.
