As if the aftermarket situation for this car isn't bad enough...

...but I have to ask, who told you that the Koni/GC combo *reqires* welding anywhere, and what did they tell you to weld? I ask because if they said to weld anything *after* the Koni insert is in, you're asking for trouble.

Truthfully, the conversion requires *no* welding whatsoever.
