Just ran into and 'old' friend, ( that I had never met!)

On my way home from work tonight, I noticed my GMC at a local convienience store. It had sandwiches spread out on the hood and people standing all around having a mid-night pic-nic. I felt the need to investigate further. My son-in-law and some friends were there. I walked up and a lot of introductions followed. The one girl was the daughter of a co worker that died a few years ago, then the shocker hit. Her boyfriend turned out to be the SON of a woman that I had restored a Mustang Cobra for 20 years ago!
The subject came up when I mentioned a party where I had filled the trunk of a Mustang with beer and ice.
My son-in-law mentioned that the guy I had just met had a Mustang of that year. I asked him "What COLOR is it?" He said that it was RED..
I pried a few more answers out of him, then I told him that I had painted his car TWICE!! ( the mustang 'cooler' was NOT his car, It was a parts car)

I had restored the car for his ( now deceased Mom) Then it had been sucker-punched by a hit-and-run, (that resulted in MORE work that the initial rebuild took),but I pulled it off.

I asked how the paint and body work was holding up. He said that he keeps it in the garage and it looks great!

I haven't seen the car for 18 years, but I think I will ask for some 'visitation' rights in the near future!

I did a 58 Chevy convertable at the same time. It showed up on a poster for a production of the play, 'Grease'. The daughter (of the guy i built it for) that was NOT born when the rebuild took place, was one of the stars of the production.

Makes an old fart feel good when the KIDS of his customers are still drawing pleasure from his work!
