Changing the shortest setting to 2 would inable searching for 'code 11' or 'cd player' without it throwing away the most critical terms.
Isn't there a setting somewhere to limit the number of results returned? This is a much more effective way to reduce the server resources used for requests that are not sufficiently targeted.

It's not really clear, does this enable searching for phrases?
Google is state of the art, but is blocked from indexing the forums, so it can't be used. Is the concern server time used by the robot? Perhaps allowing Google access to the technical forum alone would greatly improve searching capability?
Most of the info returned regarding the integration of Google and vBulletin is focused on Adsense for SEO (search engine optimization), but I beleive most of it would still apply. More research would be required. There is even a plug-in available from Google. Has anyone looked into this?
