Hey guys,
In my area i have come accross the chance to buy a 92 Green SvX, decent overall body with some blemishes on the rear spoiler and rear bumber(not big) and needs a new transmission. Car still drives in first gear, so i can even get it home. The engine has 160k on it, looks good and belt has been done. I can get this car for a little over a grand. Say i buy it, what will a rebuilt tranny run me installed? ive heard anywhere from 18-2200 from a decent shop. You tihnk i should stear clear of this? I have a daily driver now, honda accord, and am looking for a project car as i miss my white SVX
If you think it will seroisouyl be over 2400 then im probably out of my mind. any advice is welcomed. Also if the engine seems to be in good running order, waht happens if the timing belt blows? Will it blow the head as well or is it a non interference blow?
