it's only a gasket. The part where the two individual pipes flow into the connecting cat.. one of the donut gaskets is leaking pretty bad and the other has a small leak. It's kind of amazing how such a small hole can create such a huge sound. It seriously sounds like a performance exhaust right up until about 4k rpms, then the engine is pushing enough gasses out to just force right past that hole and it sounds relatively normal from 4k-6.5k...

These gaskets SHOULD be easy to get once my local dealership parts counter opens for business on Monday or Tuesday.. It'll just be half a can of PB Blaster and about 45 minutes to unbolt and clean everything..

I was initially so worried because my first Subaru had chronic exhaust manifold problems. It had gotten to the point where I wasn't going to be able to seal up the manifold without buying a new cylinder head..
