Thumping isn't a clear description for me but, I purchased an SVX with failed front differential and, loading it on a trailer (driving out of the driveway), made a pronounced metallic thumping sound. I hope that isn't what it is. For me, a used, replacement tranny was the least expensive fix. I didn't think 95's were as subject to that problem.
