Man, if it's the same SVX in his locker, I think I would have taken more time to hit myself in the head for a bit longer rather than bash the lock in first.
Oh well. Locksmith will charge you for something that should be easy enough for most who can swing a wrench.
Hunting down the lever inside the trunk lid is the only thing I can see now.
