Here's some, and one or more could be in combination...
compressor, condensor, evaporator, expansion valve, hoses, filter/drier, climate computer, ECU, throttle sensor, fans, trinary switch, solenoid diode, fuse, relay, wiring, switches, a whole variety of sensors, mode door motor, freon level high or low, oil issues...and of course there's always operator error....
There may be lots of R-12 around depending on where you look. The shop I go to will put it in for $0.50 per ounce plus their basic service charge (an SVX uses 18 to 22 oz).
