i think that price is a tad bit extreme...and the motors....you know how hard diamonds are.....well there ya go...  not exactly, but they are pretty good.
you have said that you were looking for beaters, what do you want the svx for? i mean, if you are looking for a beater, the price is a little bit more steep for minor fixing...an svx can really put a hole in your pocket
