It's a shame how threads like this so often degenerate into squabbles. Not to speak for others, but to distill this all back to the original point:

Don't send unsolicited personal messages seeking advice from members. (This is simple, common courtesy, folks.) Search the forums for an answer to your questions. If you cannot find a satisfactory answer, post your question or problem in the appropriate forum.

Not all advice found here (or anywhere else) will be on the money, but most is good stuff from knowledgeable contributors. Even dissenting opinions can be of value in deciding how to approach a problem. If you disagree with advice offered, state your case and let it go.

(You guys who get swamped with PMs should come up with a way to charge for your services).
