Well, I finally caved and brought my SVX in to a shop (not a Subaru dealership, but a mechanic who actually owns an SVX himself!). Turns out I couldn't get the error codes to show because of an issue with my resistor.
As for the problems, it turns out that they may not be completely related:
I was told I would need to replace my ATF sensor to fix my shifting problem (apparently it may have been shifting too early) and my speed sensor module in the transmission to fix the speedometer issue.
Current cost est. for labor and parts is up to $700...
Does this sound about right? Anyone got these parts laying around? If yes, it'll make my Valentine day!
