As far as I know, there are only two Square Lakes in Minnesota, one up in Lake County in the northern part of the state, and the other in Washington County, located near the St. Croix River, east of the metropolitan Twin Cities. On the other hand, there are a grand total of 49 Round Lakes in Minnesota, if you count Little Round Lake in Crow Wing County and Little Round Lake in Itasca County. Based on this information, I'd have to say that there are more Round Lakes than Square Lakes. See www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind.
