Well remembered
Trevor
You must be a day ahead of us as usual, it is still 24th April here.
Watched an interesting documentary last night on TV about Irish fighters in Vietnam. Not quite as long ago as Gallipoli. [What did you think of the Mel Gibson movie?] Always surprising how young everybody was when they paid the big price.
An interesting comment from one ex-combatant was that military cemetaries with their rows of stones or crosses and grass offer no clue to the way each name died. Many would be quick, others could be 24 hours of agony in the field. The graves all look the same. Horror glossed over.
So let us spare a thought and a prayer for the suffering of all the young boys Anzacs and others who gave their best and paid a steep price. On all sides.
Joe
