So after mounting the trailer hitch I just got done making and trying it out a few times to make sure it wouldn't fall apart
I pulled it back off and got it all cleaned up and painted.
Now that it's presentable here are some pics:
I had no way to bend such heavy gauge steel to clear the muffler so I cut part way through to bend then welded across to strengthen it. And it's plenty strong.
The tabs on the ends recess into the tow hooks so they are supporting the weight and it's not hanging on the bolt threads.
It clamps onto the subframe with the bracket I made and the bolt goes through an existing hole.
It only extends 2 1/4" past the bumper.
The trailer and boat together are less than 600# and it's nothing for the car to pull.
