Yes hollow point does effect accuracy & range a little. Hollow points are not designed for target shooting. They are designed to deform after entry. The deformity causes more tissue damage. There are rounds designed specifically for target shooting. Talk to the people at your local gun store. (go to one small speciallized stores not one of the big chain sporting stores)
