Has your brother-in-law ever changed spark plugs on an SVX? Does he know what he's getting into?

Nothing special except for the plugs -- no points, no condenser. The recommended stock plugs are NGK PFR6G11 or Nippondenso PK20PR11 Both are platinum. And DON'T use neversieze.

If your air filter needs to be replaced, now is the time to replace it also. Tell him to be careful of the boots on the coil packs. To lose one or split one would not be a good thing.

He can use the access plugs in the fender wells for the rear plugs (I didn't, however), but tell him to be careful not to drop them into the "double walled" fenders. If one drops into it, it's sianara, and you'll have to buy replacements to keep water out of the engine bay.
