Dave, Nice to see you catching up on your reading. Eh? The crack I had was right next to the bracket for the heat shield mounting. Mine cracked cause I ran over a muffler that did not quite fit under the exhaust pipes. The shop added a plate welded it up. The pipes are a lower grade of stainless not cooking quality.
