There is sure to be a reason for this, so just put in NONE if no option code is showing.

It may be the case that for the USA your applied model codes actually dictate that the model will be an L, Lsi, Lsl or whatever types you have in the US. These codes would then dictate what options were fitted.

In Japan the system was different. You could buy a Version E, which for want of a better word had basic trim levels.

To this basic level the original owner could specify many options, such as sunroof, leather, cruise etc. In that instance the Option Code might indicate on the assembly line what needed to be fitted to the car.

That's my theory anyway. Once we get enough information from owners we will be able to verify if this is correct by observation and deduction.
