General SVX Babble (my 5 spd plan, comments?)

Okay all, lemme run this by you real quick like...

My plan is this: find an SVX with a blown tranny. Use it as my base car for a 5 spd "update" while using the parts from my current SVX to fix any problems with the 5 spd car.

This plan has three main benefits for me. The first is that I still have a car I can drive to/at work. The second is that I will be getting rid of my SVX that has honestly given me many headaches since I bought it for 6k and it's tranny died 2 months later... (and it's radiator was/is leaking and the driveshaft broke and the rotors needed to be turned and the hood/bumper was bent/damaged in a front-end accident from a previous owner and the side skirts are peeling off and the timing belt covers/radiator fan screw mounts are all broken and there was broken glass when I took off the door panel and and anda dlfaksdlfkasdf;lasjkldfa;jasdfjasdfasdf) *pant, pant, pant*

So yeah... I get an SVX with a 5 spd and I still get to drive one in the meantime. The only problem is, I can't find a close SVX with a blown tranny to buy.

I mean, if Phast can get one for $750, surely I can find one for $1k. That guy in Erie PA sounded good but quite honestly, that's a long LONG way to go for a project car that I need to keep inside my budget. The way I see it, if I have to go east coast for a tranny-less SVX I can either have it shipped for a grand (ouch), rent a U-haul and drive it there/back (o u c h), fly there and rent the U-haul there (not-as-ouch but still painful in the wallet), or ship my tranny there and have him install it, then fly out there and drive it back (could be ouch).

Does this thread have any consistancy or hint of coherance at all? I thought not... *snore*

Oh yes, one last thing. I got off work an hour ago and I apologize for my rambling. Goodnight.
