Properly installed, I have never upset the balance of a driveshaft by changing the u-joints.
The original u-joints are staked in, so it will be necessary to first clean off the bits of metal that have been staked. If for some reason the replacement u-joints do knock the driveshaft out of balance, you can always get the driveshaft rebalanced. Sould be about $50.
