A tranny cooler can be a nice thing to have as a preventive maintenance. I get the feeling that the trannies on most SVX's are hit or miss. In MY opinion at this point in time I wouldn't mess with it by adding a cooler. As long as you do scheduled lube maintenance you're probably in good hands. There is in an in/out cooler diagram floating around somewhere in the Network. I'll have to get back to you on that. I beleive you can get 18" tires on your car.
