i seam to remember this happening a lot w/ older cars. I cant remember if it was because the distributer would get soaked or water going up the intake.

You shouldn't have too much dammager to your car. The main reason it kicked out was because the water got up into the cylinder and wouldn't alow for a spark. My guess is that if they take out the plugs, open up the engine as much as possible and put some hot air in there, all the water will evaporate, and you should be fine. So I think, but hey, it's wishful thinking
