The car is a FWD 94, It's my understanding that you can convert FWD to AWD, I'd like to do this( It's a subie so why not amiright?)

But I want to get the 6mt swap from an STi.

In short, would it be more cost effective to do the FWD to AWD and manual swap at the same time?

I assume so, but I'm still trying to learn everything about...Well cars.
Coming from someone who is doing the same thing (minus its a 5spd). You need to source a rear sub frame and also mounts. It will be more expensive to do 6spd but should be worth it. You can source a 4.11 or 4.44 auto for cheaper and less labor.
