sounds like the sleeve lock regulator snapped. it's a pretty easy fix as long as you don't mess with the up/down switch now and the cable hasn't come off the track. pop "sleeve lock regulator" into a search - there are a ton of threads with pics on replacement of it.

Got inside the door, now have taped up window
Looked for sleeve lock regulator, not to be found, the 'T' slot in the metal is empty. The cable works fine using the switch. Since I have 2 92's I'm ordering 8 of these puppys. I tried the right rear window switch, the one by that window, it works fine, the switch for it in the driver's door is slow and jerky????
