Wow, you got me in my own area of expertise. I really had to think for a minute before I realized that you do know what you're talking about and i'm the one who screwed up here.

I noted the engine going in the SRX-V and Trailblazer SS would be the LS4. I'm wrong. Well sorta. Both the GP-GXP and SRX-V will be getting the 5.3L V8, however the LS4 designation will only be used for the grand prix's transverse mounted motor. I believe the designation for the SRX-V powerplant will be LQ4. Not positive about that. However, this will give way perfectly to my point...they are two very different engines. The GP-GXP will be getting the 300hp, aluminum block, transverse mount motor, while the Trailblazer SS and SRX-V will be getting a 390hp, Iron block, longitudinal mount motor. I'm pretty positive the 5.3 LQ4 retains the favored Vortec heads, whereas the LS4 will use the LS-favored heads which are similiar in design to GM's prized "fast-burn" design.

Thanks for pointing that out. majeskyb 1, shadow 0
