I gotta tell y'all, I fill-up with 93 octane and top-off at 1/2 (89 octane) to 3/4 tank (87), and I drive my SVX daily and keep comprehensive fuel consumption records, and there's no difference in fuel economy that would be measurable outside a laboratory setting, since when I ran straight premium.
The perception that premium fuel is somehow "better" is simply wrong. It's just higher in octane. It's foolish to spend more on 93 octane when the car will run beautifully on a mix that approximates 91. Those two extra octane points are money out the tailpipe.
