Fuel Pump Switch

It is usually on those cold winter days, when I think, I am going to turn this key and the engine will start. I wonder how much oil is flowing? This not at all similar to a carburator engine. Fuel injection is great but on those cold days I would really like to crank the engine a few times before it starts. So with that in mind I was thinking of installing a fuel pump kill switch. Splice it right into the fuel pump relay. Anybody have any thoughts on this and if it is harmful to the injection system?
