Trick, yes. I thought that with the high hp engine the weight was not such a penalty. However, if the US did not get the 158 hp engine, then weight would be an issue.

Bottom line though guys [Chicane, you listening??], these cars were still hairdresser's cars.

Hairdressing is a state of mind not directly linked to the level of technological excellence.

You can not design a car that wears petticoats, and make this car a tiger by putting in a powerful engine.

It may behave like a tiger but it will still look like it's wearing petticoats.
