UK motor vehicle laws say that only flashing amber lighting is permitted (as in turn signals). It is not legal to have amber lighting that does not flash (like our parking lights). I have seen these in person on a couple of UK SVX's.

Yes John the Australian model is the same. We can't show any other colour light to the front of the car, thats why we have clear side lights, and amber turn bulbs. The park lights are in the hi-beams,and can be used as running lights. The same for the glass, we had to have head lights of only glass, till about 97? when Polly lenses were allowed. Can't have fog lights in the front or rear, and don't have to have the side reflectors.
It must have been a real problem for Subaru to make so many different models variations for all the different markets. Like the glass head lights for only 200 Australian models.
