I got the +12dBi antenna kit for my router ($10 on sale at RadioShack), plus I'm using the Tomato firmware, I have NO connectivity problems at my house. Only problem with boosting the signal, is you open it up to your neighbors being able to borrow your connection, so make sure you use WPA encryption, and set the network name to something that's not generic, like netgear, cuz WPA can be cracked if the network name is common. (Or if it's a dictionary word really)
