can you program a different remote to operate the locks?

i have an autostarter, the starter works fine, but its from the previous owner.... i have both the fob (keychain remote) from the svx that operates the locks perfectly.... and the remote for the starter starts the car...but nothing else.... it will flash the lights as if i were locking/unlocking the car but no lock action (all show, no go).... i was wondering if the security module can program to my other remote, as if it were the one from the dealer or does it have some special band thingy.....

i basically want one remote to luck/unlock AND start/stop my car

2 remotes is jsut too bulky on my keychain
