Cleaning the throttle body usually is the remedy for this problem.
I've had the problem before, but, not to the point of seeming like it's going to stall. Just a brief, slight, drop in RPM. Hardly noticiceable (unless you're really anal, like me).
You might check the old yahoo archives (Top of the page, "Message Archives" button), because I remember John Shotsky posting about how his was doing this. I can't remember if he ever found a remedy. Use key search word "hiccup."
