I did the wheel bearing tonight. Got parts from NAPA at lunch.
It was the RF wheel bearing that was howling like a blue tick hound dog with a racoon up a tree. It looks like a lubrication failure to me. MAYBE a seal failure allowed the bearing to get wet and the grease to break down.

I got to ride my bike to work today! Saw a nice ring-neck on the trail going to work.
Tomorrow, I'll brave the snow with the SVX.
I hope I can get home! Good thing I have a set of chains...The beauty of all-wheel-drive ends with snow and 50 series performance tires!

My "little" 4runner is still down...Figures. The only time I might need it in the last 3 years and I have it apart! I COULD have it FWD only as soon as tomorrow night. I need to have a driveshaft built for the rear. (custom length) Driving with front wheel drive only and a locking differential would be pretty sketchy in the snow.

So the secret to precipitation in CO is not simply WASHING your car, but to DISABLE all of your rides at once!
