I think either way they should have seen it. If your motor turns out ot be blown up, then it's brobly their falt. Changing the seals requiers removal of the timing belt and tensioner, so if there was a problem with it they should have noticed and informed you. So if it ran out of oil because they didn't put it back in or because they screwed up a seal and it leaked out, or if it died because of a timing belt problem it's still there bad and they should fix it at there cost. Don't let them screw you over.
