You will love the S5 and its glorious V8. I had an S4 with the slightly different 4.2 and loved it until a deer decided to attack it on the highway and get it totalled.

The Audi (or other German stuff) is not for everyone though, but for someone with your skills you'll be fine. My S4 didn't give me much trouble, except for a broken heater hose which was nearly impossible to get at given the big V8 in small car packaging. At least the S5 should be better in that regard.

You'll probably want to get a VAG-CON if you don't have access to one already.
