So, when I bought the car, the remotes didn't work. I decided to buy some new batteries and replace them to see if I could get it to work. I replaced the battery in one remote and followed the procedure laid out earlier this year:

1) Enter the car and turn the ignition to "ON" ( not necessary to start)

2) Turn key to "OFF" and press the "Securtiy" button repeatedly untill the horn beeps quickly a few times then stop pressing.

3) Slowly press the keyless entry remote button 4 times.

4) Turn the key to "ON" then "OFF" again.

5) Remove key from ignition and press the Keychain button, your doors should lock.


I got to step two and after the horn sounded a few times, I heard a clicking from the back. I then pressed the remote button four times and nothing happened. I tried several times, and the remote is not working properly.

Is the security module bad (the security feature w/o remote still works properly)?

Am I doing it wrong?

Any suggestions?
