Ha, sorry about that Harvey.
I thought it would be obvious that I was talking about the ecu that controls the transmission.
I meant when they take the transmission's electronic control unit/computer out they should visually check it for physical damage inside. Not the engine's control unit... which I guess is what you thought I meant?
I'll try to be more explicit next time.
