My 960 Volvo started having problems deciding on what gear to be in in the upper ranges. It also had a flashing transmission fault light flashing, like the CEL light. Took it to an independant but factory trained Volvo mechanic who knew how to read the codes (they are a very secretive lot). He said it was a selenoid fault. I said C selenoid? He said C1, your car has 7.
I have a new appreciation for the Subraru tranny. However, this is Volvo #5 and the first time with a tranny problem.
