Cooler keeping ot too cool

According to threads from the past, the tranny needs to reach a specific temperature before it goes into overdrive and probably torque converter lockup. The old 'stick a piece of cardboard in front of the tranny cooler' might work. I don't have a tranny cooler in mine but at 12 degrees mine has taken a while to get into overdrive (15 min. of drive time).
