All indications are that Subaru did not use any kind of code on the unit, but there may be a trouble code if a disc gets stuck in the unit.

On the underside of the unit is a large white printed window with a code on it, but since the unit was not like (Smart) phones of current days, then there should not be the need for a code.

Unless I missed it, there is not a code discretion module in the wiring for the unit either.
