Yes guys, it is from the transmission.
There already is a heat shield on the bottom of the car, above the transmission, to reflect heat away. The main problem is the transmission is very near the car floor, and heat leaks into the cabin due to radiation from the transmission.
You could try putting a more effective insulated shield on there, that would be a help. I have also thought it would be very useful to duct some outside cold air to this area, which would blow hot air out from between the transmission and the chassis. I never got around to doing anything about it though.
