When I got it, my silver SVX couldn't make up its mind what gear it wanted (I think I've posted here before that the first time I set the cruise control, at a very modest highway speed, the tach needle swung to-and-fro like a metronome). Not jarring or violent, but annoying enough to make me avoid that RPM/speed range. Also had a very harsh 1-2 shift under hard throttle. A new throttle position sensor completely cured this. Might be worth a try before spending big $$$ on the transmission.
